WAW-ME conference presentations in 2026

If you are interested in our project, here are the conferences we will be attending to present parts of our work this year:

May:

26 to 30 May: 47th International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English (ICAME-47) in Koblenz (Germany). Johanna Vogelsanger and Anthony Harris will be giving a presentation entitled "Middle English Thesaurus of the Learned Professions (METtLe-Pro): Work in progress [WIP]" 

June:

3 to 6 June: 14th International Conference on Middle English (ICOME-14) in Zurich (Switzerland). Anthony Harris will be giving a presentation entitled: "Towards a new context-based, configurable Middle English normaliser" and Rihab Ayed will be giving a presentation entitled: "Travelling from one Semantic Field to Another: Overlapping Lexical Items in the Semantic Fields of MEDICINE and RELIGION in Middle English". In addition to that our team will give a project report presentation.

15 to 18 June: 23rd International Conference on English Historical Lunguistics (ICEHL-23) in Milan (Italy). Olga Timofeeva will be giving a presentation entitled: "Courtesy and V address in Middle English" and Annina Seiler Rübekeil will be giving a presentation entitled: "Let’s Talk About Sex in the History of English".

24 to 26 June: 16th International Conference on Historical Lexicography and Lexicology (ICHLL-16). Rihab Ayed will be presenting a poster about our project with a particular focus on the semantic field of MEDICINE. 

August/September:

31 August to 4 September: 2026 European Society for the Study od English Conference (ESSE 2026) in Santiago de Compostella (Spain). Rihab Ayed will be giving a presentation entitled: "Places of Worship, Places of Healing: How Lexical Innovations in Middle English Reflect the Emergence of the Hospital in Medieval England"
